This event will be endowed with 15 million dollars in prizes and will allow to score points in the world ranking, specified the authorities which govern the men's and women's circuits of world tennis.

The United Cup, divided between Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, will oppose 18 countries each represented by a maximum of eight players (four men, four women).

In detail, a first phase (December 29 - January 4) will see the 18 countries divided into six groups of three with two men's singles, two women's singles and a mixed doubles.

The cities of Brisbane, Perth and Sydney will each host two of these six groups.

In each of the three cities, the winners of the two groups will then compete and the three countries thus qualified will play a next phase in Sydney (January 6-8).

A fourth, the best ranked in the first phase, will complete this Final Four.

The final will take place on January 8, eight days before the start of the Australian Open, the first round of the Grand Slam.
