Pablo Mari, an Arsenal player who is on loan this season to Monza from Serie A, was injured yesterday in a stabbing incident in Milan.
A 46-year-old man, who is apparently mentally impaired, stabbed five passers-by in a supermarket in the city and killed one of them - and the police ruled out the possibility of a terrorist incident.
One of the injured is the football player, who responded to the incident today for the first time as he recovers from a stab wound in the back.

Mari told the Italian "Gazetta": "I'm lucky, I saw a person murdered in front of me. I was walking with my child in the supermarket and I felt a sharp pain in my back. Immediately afterwards I saw a person slit someone's throat, right in front of me. I'm fine. On Monday I plan Already back to play."
Pablo Mari made 8 appearances this season for Monza, the newcomer to Serie A, and scored 1 goal.
Even earlier, the team updated the player's condition: "Pablo Mari is not in danger, his injury is not life-threatening.
We hope to see him back with us soon.
Pablo, we are all here with you and your family.
Keep fighting as you know how, you will recover quickly."
