After two league bankruptcies in a row, Hamburger SV managed to win again in the top game of the 2nd division at SC Paderborn.

In the 3: 2 (2: 1) success, the offensive players were particularly convincing.

With the win, HSV climbs to second place in the table and displaces Paderborn to third place.

Hannover 96 defeated Karlsruher SC 1-0 (0-0).

Hanover is in fifth place with 24 points and keeps in touch with the promotion places.

There was no winner in the duel between SV Sandhausen and Eintracht Braunschweig.

After the 2:2 (0:0) Sandhausen remains penultimate, while Braunschweig is still in midfield.

Paderborn started the game powerfully.

Florent Muslija shot a free kick from around 25 meters straight on goal, HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes deflected the ball to the crossbar (2nd minute).

Shortly thereafter, the goalkeeper was powerless.

After a throw-in, Marvin Pieringer got the ball in the penalty area. The HSV defense was unsorted, the ball got to Paderborn's Robert Leipertz, who scored from eight yards (3').

HSV struggled after that, but Paderborn missed a few chances.

HSV punished this negligence.

Jean-Luc Dompé crossed in, where Robert Glatzel made it 1-1 with a header (23').

After that, the Hamburgers were the more active team and often disrupted Paderborn in the build-up game.

HSV then turned the game around just before the break.

Dompé moved into the penalty area from the left, was not attacked decisively and flicked the ball into the far corner (45' + 1').

In the second half, Hamburg initially set the tone, but Paderborn scored the next goal.

Leipertz scored his second goal of the day and tied the game (51').

HSV was briefly shocked – but then hit back again.

The strong Dompé put it on László Bénes, who flicked the ball into the right corner (69th).

In the end, HSV missed a few good chances.

The guests put pressure on from the start, but shortly before the break Hannover finally had the best chance to take the lead with a penalty kick.

Marcel Franke had previously brought down Maximilian Beier in the penalty area, referee Sven Waschitzki-Günther pointed to the point according to the video images.

However, Havard Nielsen was denied by KSC goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck.

Hendrik Weydandt (56th) managed to take the lead in the second half.

Shortly thereafter, Karlsruhe's Jerome Gondorf saw the yellow-red card after repeated foul play (62nd).

After the goal, Hannover acted in a controlled manner with a majority and settled in the opposing half for long stretches.

The first half was poor in highlights.

Braunschweig's Anthony Ujah ran freely towards Sandhausen's keeper Nikolai Rehnen in the 24th minute and lobbed the ball past the goal on the left.

The attacker was just offside anyway.

Just before the break, David Kinsombi missed the hosts' best chance to date and hit the post with a header (41').

A few minutes after the break, Ujah headed in to give Braunschweig the lead (52').

Another goal by the Nigerian was ruled out due to an offside position (55').

Janik Bachmann also scored with a header in the 1-1 (66th).

Eight minutes later, Anton Donkor scored the next Braunschweig goal from almost 20 meters.

Sandhausen then fought for the equalizer and was rewarded in the 80th minute when Kinsombi brought the ball over the line from close range (80th).
