FC Bayern Munich could no longer take the group victory before the sixth matchday, but the game against Inter Milan was more than just a show.

After initial difficulties, Bayern improved, won 2-0 (1-0) and ended the group stage with 18 points and 18 of their own goals, conceding only two goals.

Inter Milan finished Group C in second place, that was also clear in advance.

For FC Barcelona, who won 4: 2 (2: 0) at Viktoria Pilsen in the parallel game, the Europa League continues.

Inter got into the game better.

After a corner, the ball came to Nicolò Barella, who took aim from around 20 meters out, but was denied by Sven Ulreich, who made a strong save (7').

Shortly thereafter, there could have been a hand penalty for Inter.

After a shot by Barella, Sadio Mané covered his face with his hands and deflected the ball to the left.

But although referee Ivan Kružliak looked at the scene several times on screen, he decided on a corner instead of a penalty (8th).

He probably interpreted Mané's movement as a reflex by which he had not increased his body area.

A decision that caused astonishment not only among the Italians.

The Bayern game showed the many changes that Julian Nagelsmann had made, especially at the beginning.

Ryan Gravenberch kept making the wrong decisions in central midfield, while wingers Kingsley Coman and Mané rarely got through.

Inter had the best chance when national player Robin Gosens put a sharp pass inside, but attacker Lautaro Martínez scrambled the ball over the goal (27').

The in-form Bayern then took the lead.

After a corner from Joshua Kimmich, Benjamin Pavard, this time called up as a central defender, headed the ball unchallenged and brought the ball in from about seven meters in the goal (32nd).

Bayern plays confidently

The second in the Bundesliga then took control of the game.

Shortly before the break, Coman started a run over half the field, but failed with his inaccurate shot at Inter keeper André Onana (45 + 2).

Bayern kept going forward in the second half, the Inter players clearly struggled on the slippery pitch.

A shot by Kimmich just missed the goal (51st).

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting provided a highlight when he scored with an overhead kick, but was clearly offside (64th).

Shortly thereafter, the attacker underpinned his currently outstanding condition.

After a pass from Alphonso Davies, Choupo-Moting set the ball straight and shot it from around 18 meters into the left corner (72').

After that, Bayern easily bagged their seventh competitive win in a row, Inter didn't get much more before Ulreich thwarted a big chance from Edin Džeko in added time (90' + 2').
