The World Cup in Qatar is coming up: DFB coach Flick wants to present his squad soon.
Can an experienced DFB star make the squad?
Berlin – Hansi Flick wants to announce his 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup on Thursday, November 10.
Until then, numerous candidates still have time to present themselves to the national coach.
Flick is likely to be spoiled for choice in one part of the team in particular: in midfield or up front.
The fact that this is now often recognized as part of a team is thanks to the high variability of the DFB players.
Numerous attackers can be used on the ten, as a winger or center forward.
In addition to the variability, another characteristic is noticeable: age.
Many players like Karim Adeyemi, Kai Havertz or Florian Wirtz are still under 23 years old.
However, as the national coach has repeatedly emphasized, a “balanced” squad should travel to Qatar for the World Cup.
In other words, experience is just as important to Flick as youthful carefreeness.

A player who could enrich the DFB team with his experience is Marco Reus.
However, time is running out for the Borussia Dortmund captain.
Only a few games remain for Reus to present themselves at a competitive level.
His form should decide about Flick's nomination.
For example, Reus did not travel to Copenhagen for BVB's last group game in the Champions League on Tuesday (October 31).
The 33-year-old was missing on departure.
The background is probably still a ligament injury that Reus suffered in September.
A brief comeback a month later did not provide the necessary time to recommend himself for the national team.
Instead, the 33-year-old had to pause again.

Until the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Sunday, November 20th, Reus can only show himself to the national coach in league games against Bochum, Wolfsburg and Mönchengladbach.

Marco Reus already has a long history of injuries: in 2014 he missed the World Cup in Brazil due to a syndesmosis ligament tear, which he suffered a few days before the start of the tournament.
At the EM 2016 in France, Reus had to pass because of a pubic inflammation.
Reus was only able to participate in the 2018 World Cup in Russia: However, the DFB team failed in the group phase.
