Some of the green fans waved signs: "Harassment in Lisbon, police terror in Teddy and suspension of flights." Because of the throwing of the ball: the north stand will be closed in front of Hapoel Tel Aviv

Summary: Maccabi Haifa - Hapoel Hadera 0:1 (Sport1)

Maccabi Haifa fans protested this evening (Wednesday) during the match against Benfica against Or Shahar, the son of the club's owner Yaakov Shahar, who has become very dominant in recent years.

"Harassment in Lisbon, police terror in Teddi, flight bans, and the dawn of the money interest," read some of the signs waved by the green fans.

As I recall, many Haifa fans claimed severe harassment by the security guards in Lisbon a few weeks ago.

Earlier this week some of the green fan organizations announced their intention to boycott the away game at Teddy, due to the "escalating police crime in Jerusalem".

Even before the opening whistle for its last match in the group stage of the Champions League against Benfica, Maccabi Haifa was informed of the punishment imposed on it by the court of the Football Association.

Following the throwing of objects in the game against Hapoel Hadera, and of course the ball that was thrown (and did not reach the field) during the penalty shot by Menashe Zelka in extra time then, the judge, attorney Tzachi Namirovsky, decided to close the north stand at the municipal stadium in Haifa for one actual game. The penalty will be applied in the Greens' next home game , which will be against Hapoel Tel Aviv on November 13. Also, the champion was fined NIS 35,000.

The CEO of the club Itzik Ovadia said in the discussion: "We decided to increase the camera system in the stadium in order to improve the security system and allow us to get to the lighter throwers as quickly as possible.

Already at this stage we reached six lighter throwers who were identified, their names were passed on to the police and they were removed from the pitches for 60 days, and this is in addition to the block we implemented for their subscribers.

The club invests a lot of money in cameras and handling disturbances."

Ovadia also presented an identification video of the person who threw the ball during the penalty and said: "He was also identified and removed for 180 days by the police.

We are doing a lot on a precedent level so that such incidents do not happen again, and within a day we reach people and pass their names to the police.

We do informational activities among the fans and publish the arrests and expulsions."

In his decision, the judge wrote: "This is the defendant's seventh position this season, when during her previous visit to the court for a similar incident of throwing lighters at the goalie of the opposing team, the defendant's representative made claims similar to those made today. I am not making it any easier and it is clear that she is doing a lot to prevent a riot fans, to catch them as soon as possible, prevent them from entering the field and report it to the police. However, it seems that the situation in the fields in general and in that of the accused is only getting worse, and objects are routinely thrown from the north stand. This time, a single ball was also thrown at the goal immediately and near the penalty kick - an incident that could have cause great sporting damage to the accused."
