Julian Nagelsmann speaks of injuries and tiredness at Bayern before the cracker against Inter Milan.
Sadio Mané could be one of them.
Munich - "For me, he has long since arrived," said Bayern boss Oliver Kahn at the weekend about Sadio Mané.
And indeed: After a period of low form, the newcomer from Liverpool is getting better and better at Bayern Munich.
In the 6-2 win against FSV Mainz 05 on the last Bundesliga matchday, Mané was directly involved in three goals for the first time in Bayern dress.
The form curve, it's rising.
FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann never tires of mentioning how he got Mané out of the crisis.
Left wing (where he played for Liverpool for years) instead of center forward is the answer.
Now, however, the last group game in the Champions League is coming up.
Bayern host Inter Milan - and Mané may have to go to the bench.
When Nagelsmann let Mané play, although the Bayern star was tired
It wasn't long ago that Nagelsmann let Mané play from the start, although he said he was tired.
That was in the DFB Cup against FC Augsburg (5: 2). Mané had to go down after 58 minutes after a pomad appearance.
At the time, Nagelsmann explained his Mané decision: "He was very tired, the trip to Paris [Ballon d'Or award ceremony, editor's note].
Red.] robbed him of his sleep.
He hasn't slept all night.
That's why we substituted him.” Why did he even let him play?
"But I wanted to let him flow."
Mané will probably have to go to the bench against Inter Milan
Nagelsmann is apparently refraining from this desired flow before the Inter game.
On the PK he revealed: "We are a couple of battered and tired players who will play a maximum of 45 minutes.
But I won't name them.
We will rotate, also because the last few weeks have been very intense.”
It can be assumed that Nagelsmann is alluding to Mané, among other things.
With the exception of TSG Hoffenheim, the 30-year-old has been in the starting line-up in every competitive game since the international break.
And: Munich have long been the group winners ahead of Inter.
In view of the tight timing in the three-day rhythm, other players from the Bayern squad are likely to play against Milan.
