Manuel Neuer
announced this Wednesday that he had skin cancer.
The goalkeeper and captain of Bayern Munich and the German national team has published it in a press release for the launch of his brand of sun protection and skin care products,
that he has created together with the tennis player Angelique Kerber.
The goalkeeper has recognized that he was forced to undergo surgery three times.
No details are known about the date of the illness, although the German media point out that there were already some rumors when he was seen with a plaster on his face in December 2021, among others, in the match against Borussia Dortmund.

The objective of the two athletes, in addition to promoting their product, is to call for precautions to be taken when exposed to the sun.
“We both share very personal stories dealing with skin conditions.
For Angelique [Kerber] it's sun-induced hyperpigmentation and, in my case, skin cancer on my face, for which I had to have surgery three times," Neuer confirmed.
According to the daily
Bild
,
Surgical interventions do not prevent him from continuing to practice his profession.
Neuer has yet to reappear in Bayern's goal, but his absence is due solely to shoulder discomfort.
The goalkeeper could return to the pitch next Saturday during the visit of the German champion to Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.
If nothing goes wrong, the 36-year-old goalkeeper will arrive in full condition at the World Cup in Qatar, where he will play his fourth World Cup and will seek to repeat the success of 2014, when the
Mannschaft
lifted the title after beating Brazil in the semifinal with a historic (1-7) and Argentina (1-0) in the final.
