Just experiment: Type into a search engine the name Halland, named after one of Sweden's counties… and it's all the latest news on Manchester City's star striker, Erling Haaland, flooding in. the screen!
A small inconvenience which is slowly leading to the decline of the province on the Internet, according to Jimmy Sandberg, director of Visit Halland.
So much so that the latter wrote an open letter begging the Norwegian player's fans and journalists to spell his name correctly.
"Since Haaland arrived at Manchester City and scored all those goals, we've been overwhelmed with his presence in our hashtags and search engines," he told the BBC.
We are Halland.
He is Haaland.
The popularity of the football phenomenon completely stifles our online presence.
To our despair, we now see that all of our efforts to promote Halland are quickly being wiped out.
If nothing is done, we fear that our beloved region will become a forgotten Atlantis, a place known only in ancient stories and scriptures.

Located in the southwest of Sweden, the County of Halland, whose main town is Halmstad (53,000 inhabitants), is, according to its website, an "idyllic province with a rich gastronomic culture and a multitude outdoor activities, including biking and even surfing.
The problem is that this region made famous recently by the series “Vikings” has also become almost invisible in the photos!
