Yes it is certain.
But, at the same time, we were not surprised to find ourselves in this situation.
Each resumption of competition against the nations of the South, there is always a major difficulty.
A team that is starting over, looking for itself after an eight-month break, faces a team that has been together for months.
We knew that two weeks of work couldn't make up for all those months spent together.
It was a very tough game, but we knew it would be close.
I'm very proud of the boys, they never gave up.
What do you remember in priority, the victory or the laborious performance?
Victory of course.
Because it was difficult and, despite the problems encountered, the team remained mobilized.
The ability to adapt too when Geraci gets injured in the warm-up, which makes us move to a bench with five forwards instead of six.
Our ability to react, when we take points.
Our ability to finish strong the first, then the second half.
This whole scenario pushed us to go for the victory in the last minutes.
What does this record of eleven consecutive victories mean?
Winning matches is our mission.
Being able to win eleven makes us very proud and very happy.
Our work is rewarded.
It gives us confidence and it validates the choices made since the beginning of the mandate.
The choice of methods and the choice of players.
But we are still the youngest team aligned, with collective experience below the opponents.
It must encourage us to keep innovating… But we were playing for a record that dates back to the 1930s. Winning eleven consecutive matches in modern rugby is no small feat…
