Manuel Neuer celebrates his comeback for FC Bayern after a four-week injury break.
The captain of the German soccer record champions is in Munich's goal in the Bundesliga game at Hertha BSC today (3:30 p.m. / Sky).
The 36-year-old was recently sidelined with a shoulder injury and missed a total of seven games.
Berlin – In the Bayern squad, but not yet in the starting XI, Leroy Sané is back after his muscle fiber tear.
Lucas Hernandez is also at least returning to the bench after suffering a muscle injury in September.
Thomas Müller (hip) and Matthijs de Ligt (ankle) are still missing.
Josip Stanišić has to pass at short notice because of the flu, the Munich team announced shortly before kick-off.
Neuer: "I'm fine"
Neuer had already announced his comeback the night before in a video on the Bayern website.
"I'm doing well.
I did the first team training.
Everything was fine," said the national team goalkeeper, who is also optimistic about participating in the World Cup this month.
Bayern want to take the lead in the table with a win in the sold-out Berlin Olympic Stadium and put pressure on the previous leaders Union Berlin before their game on Sunday (3:30 p.m. / DAZN) at Bayer Leverkusen.
