In fifteen days, the World Cup will start in Qatar.
German supporters took advantage of the 13th day of the Bundesliga this weekend to display many banners calling for a boycott of the Qatari World Cup or recalling certain facts such as the deaths of workers on the construction sites of the stadiums.
The movement began on Friday.
During the first game of the day between Borussia Mönchengladbach and VFB Stuttgart, a banner reading “Boycott Qatar 2022!
“had been deployed in the stands.
This Saturday, other kops followed suit, notably during the Hertha BSC - Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund - VfL Bochum matches.
At the Olympiastadion in Berlin, supporters wrote: “15,000 dead for 5,760 minutes of football!
Shame on you !
», as well as another « Boycott Qatar 2022 ».

In Dortmund, the banners were even more numerous.
Before the entry of the Borussia Dortmund players and the start of the derby against Bochum, the Yellow Wall kop, the stand where the Ultras gather unfurled a huge banner along the entire length of the stand with the message "BOYCOTT QATAR 2022" inscribed in yellow and black, the colors of the club.
One could also read on their banners: "More dead than minutes played, Boycott Qatar", "The moral values lost, football bears the cost" or "The dignity of men is inviolable".
Several other messages were also displayed such as "Turn off Qatar" with a television pattern in the background, "Cold beer instead of air-conditioned stadiums", or "A human Qatarstrophe".
In Bundesliga 2 (the 2nd division), many supporters also expressed their disapproval.
In Germany, supporters and the population in general show that they are particularly mobilized.
A boycott-Qatar site has been launched.
