The Seville derby not only had controversy on the pitch with three expulsions, two from Betis and one from Sevilla.

He also had it in the box, in the corridors inside the Benito Villamarín and in the locker room tunnel.

After a high-tension game, the president of Betis, Ángel Haro, has decided not to invite Monchi, Sevilla's sports director, to the presidential box again.

And so he has communicated it with a telephone call to his counterpart in Seville, José Castro.

The Verdiblanco club regrets what it considers Monchi's "inappropriate behavior" during the development of the match.

According to some Betic sources to this newspaper, the sports director, who had always behaved correctly in the box, lost his nerve during the development of the derby:

Betis insists that the behavior of the president, José Castro, was totally polite and correct, without understanding the behavior of the sports director.

“You cannot come to a box to face the Betis fans”, point out Betis sources, who, logically, do not veto Monchi’s entry into the Benito Villamarín, but in the box “because the invitation of the Betis president is the power ”.

The box experienced compromising scenes, to the point that Rafael Gordillo, director of external relations for Betis, did not greet Monchi for his behavior when he wanted to do so at the end of the match.

It was then that Monchi ran out of the box to cross the entire Betic stadium and stand on the pitch to greet the Sevilla fans who had come to Benito Villamarín.

The manager greeted his team and then exchanged a few words with members of the Betis bench.

Some of them had to be stopped on the pitch by members of security because they were about to attack the Sevilla sports director.

Monchi was insulted by some Verdiblanco employees.

Already inside the stadium, in the prelude to the changing rooms,

A fight broke out between Monchi and his assistants with members of the bench and Betis employees.

Insults were exchanged and he came close to coming to blows.

Monchi did not have accreditation to step on the lawn of Benito Villamarín, but Betis security members allowed it because it is a habitual behavior of the Sevilla leader and to avoid greater evils.

Sevilla, for its part, has made public a statement in which it states that it will report to the Anti-Violence Committee the

"Sevilla informs that it is going to denounce, before the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, the

typhus

exhibited this past Sunday in the South Goal stands of the Benito Villamarín Stadium in the preview of the Great Derby against Real Betis, for understanding that it not only incites violence, but also advocates for it, trivializing the serious events that occurred in the previous derby played at said stadium in the cup match between the two teams held last January 15”.
