The in-form FC Bayern Munich is still unstoppable.

The 6:1 (4:1) against Werder Bremen was the ninth competitive win in a row for the Munich team, who will remain at the top of the table after the 14th matchday of the Bundesliga.

Werder is still in seventh place.

Borussia Mönchengladbach lost 1:2 (0:2) at VfL Bochum.

Bayern have been in top form for weeks, and nothing changed against Bremen.

The league leaders overran the guests in the early stages.

Jamal Musiala gave Munich an early lead after Bremen couldn't clear the ball from behind (6th minute).

Anthony Jung managed to equalize shortly afterwards after a pass from Mitchell Weiser (10'), but then Bayern really got going.

Again Bremen did not clear consistently, Serge Gnabry scored from around twelve meters to make it 2-1 (22nd) against his former club.

Four minutes later, Leon Goretzka made it 3-1 when he just about caught a through ball from Joshua Kimmich and converted the ball as it fell (26').

Again just two minutes later, Gnabry made it 4: 1 (28th) after some preliminary work by Leroy Sané.

Mané knocked out

Bayern played forward with just a few passes.

Werder played bravely, but often didn't even find their way into the duels.

A missed penalty by Bayern striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, which was denied by Bremen keeper Jiří Pavlenka (18') was irrelevant.

Sadio Mané's injury could be much more serious.

The summer access took the penalty and limped off a few minutes later.

It was initially unclear how badly the Senegalese was injured and whether his participation in the World Cup was in danger.

Bremen's best chance of a second goal came just before half-time when Bayern central defender Dayot Upamecano played the ball too lazily inside where Bremen's Marvin Ducksch was lurking.

The attacker scrambled the ball wide of the goal (45').

In the second half, Bayern took it easy at first before a shot from the strong Sané landed on the post (54').

After numerous changes, the game flattened out in the course of the second half before Gnabry added the 5:1 in the 82nd minute.

The young Mathys Tel (84th) set the final point.

The Gladbachers derailed the game in Bochum in the first eleven minutes with two strange goals conceded.

First Christopher Antwi-Adjei was free after a through pass and overcame Borussia reserve keeper Jan Olschowsky.

The goal was initially disallowed for offside, but still counted after a VAR check (7th).

Only a little later Olschowsky, who was playing his first professional game, played his central defender Nico Elvedi under pressure.

He threw a shoulder glance to the outside line, but then blindly played back towards the goalkeeper – straight through the penalty area.

VfL striker Philipp Hofmann suspected the mistake and made it 2-0 (11th).

Gladbach played unclean and was unstable at the back.

A headball against the post by Ivan Ordets (51') could have made it 0-3, but instead Alassane Pléa reduced the lead after Kevin Stöger's attempt to clear the ball (62').

Shortly before the end of the game, the guests even managed to equalize when Ramy Bensebaini headed in a cross from Jonas Hofmann (82'), but the goal didn't count because the crosser was offside.

There was no more compensation.

Bochum's third home win in a row put them four points ahead of Schalke 04, who are still playing on Wednesday.

Gladbach is currently in ninth place with 19 points.
