Two months ago, the Israeli national team ended the European Championship campaign with a major failure, after failing to qualify from the group stage.
This week she gathers again, for the continuation of the World Championship qualifiers.
In between, none of the heads of the union and the national team gave an account of what happened in Prague.
There was no talk of conclusions, no one took responsibility, nor was there talk of the future.
It seems that they forget here too quickly, and move on to the next campaign as if nothing happened.

The last Eurobasket tournament was a clear failure to meet expectations.
Even before personnel changes, there should have been a public analysis of what happened here.
There may have been discussions and conclusions drawn behind closed doors, but the public does not know about them.
This is a national team and a public body, therefore, unlike a private club, accountability is a must and not an option.
Just think how they would discuss it if there was a great achievement here.

I do not speak and do not consider personal initiatives - for example, like that of the union's professional director, Finney Gershon, who was interviewed in a private podcast and shed light on what happened behind the scenes.
This is not how law and order is administered to the public.
By the way, in the same podcast Gershon announced that he had finished his career in the senior team.
The union did not announce anything about this, just as it did not announce at the time the change that made Finney part of the senior team.

He also decided not to speak after the Eurobasket failure, and his voice was not heard in regards to the summary of the championship and drawing conclusions from it.
If a miracle does not happen and he manages to qualify for the World Championship, it is clear to everyone that he will end his career in a few months with the end of his contract as a coach.
Right now, he's in a weird position.
Everyone, including the players, knows that he will end his role at the end of the campaign, which is certainly not a healthy situation for the team.
Another coach should have stood on the lines from the next game, with a healthy professional vision for the long term.

The basketball association has done an excellent job in recent years in the youth teams.
