Caroline Garcia, who won the Masters on Monday, will participate in the first day of the play-off match for the maintenance of the Billie Jean King Cup between France and the Netherlands on Friday at Portel (Pas-de-Calais), according to the AFP.
The Lyonnaise, world No. 4 after her victory in the tournament bringing together the eight best players in the world of the season which was disputed in Fort Worth (United States), joined her three teammates Alizé Cornet, Diane Parry and Chloé Paquet only on Wednesday.
The captain of the French team Julien Benneteau has therefore decided not to spare his best player for the first day of the competition, formerly called Fed Cup.
It is Cornet (36th in the world) who will open the ball on Friday against the Dutch n°1, Lesley Kerkhove (207th in the WTA ranking), then Garcia will be opposed to Suzan Lamens (213th in the world).
The two Tricolores will also form the doubles, the composition of which can nevertheless be changed up to 15 minutes before the meeting, scheduled for Saturday after the other two singles.
France, beaten in the play-offs by Italy (3-1) in April, will try to keep its place in the elite this weekend in the Cauldron, the basketball hall of ESSM Le Portel (ProA).
