The world round in open water swimming in Eilat reached its climax today (Saturday) with the 10 km relay. For the men, it was an extremely fast and tight relay right up to the touch, when the winner was Gregorio Paltrineri, the Olympic champion. The Italian clocked a time of 1:46.41. 8 hours and beat the French Olympic medalist Marc Olivier by only 1.6 seconds.

Bronze was won by the World Youth Champion, the Hungarian David Bettelham, 2.4 seconds behind the winner and 1.2 seconds ahead of the Olympic medalist from Tokyo and his teammate Krzysztof Razovsky, who remained outside the podium.

However, Razovski can certainly be satisfied, as thanks to this result he shares with Paltrinieri the first place in the overall ranking of the World Tour, which ends today.

Each of the two won a cash prize of 25 thousand dollars.

For the women, we got a huge surprise.

While the last two Olympic champions were in the water, the one who won was actually the Australian Chelsea Govetzka, who had never stood on the podium in a major competition before.

She set a time of 1:56:19.8 and was 3.8 seconds ahead of the Olympic champion Anna Cunha of Brazil, despite a navigational error towards the last straight.

There was also drama in the battle for bronze, which was eventually won by the German Leonie Beck, after a photo finish with the French Orly Muller, when less than a tenth of a second separated the two by a touch.

In the general round, the one who won the title was Konya, who, thanks to her result in Eilat, was ahead of the Dutch Sharon Van Ravendael.

Orin Gavlan finished in 41st place with 2:05:09.5 hours.

For the men, Yonatan Ehadot ranked 38th with 1:52:25.7 hours, Ziv Cohen in 42nd place, 5.6 seconds behind him and Maor Gorelnik 45th with 1:57:47.3 hours.
