That was not to be expected: The Erding Gladiators won a gripping game 4:2 against Bayernliga leaders TEV Miesbach on Sunday evening.

Erding – What a weekend for the Erding Gladiators.

While the 6-0 on Friday at tail light EC Pfaffenhofen was still expected, the 4-2 (2-1, 1-1, 1-0) on Sunday against TEV Miesbach was a sensation - it was the leader's first defeat of the season after 60 minutes.

For the Gladiators, team boss Felix Schütz had again called up a young, fourth line of attackers, with the Landshut promotional license players Dennis Henter, Björn Salhi and Luis Scheibengraber.

Miesbach was missing the best scorer in the league, Bohumil “Bobby” Slavicek.

Nevertheless, the TEV was in full swing and after 148 seconds used a brutal Erdinger defensive mistake to take the lead.

Benedikt Pölt was all alone in front of goalkeeper Christoph Schedlbauer and was able to calmly score to make it 1-0.

But the Erdingers fought their way into the game.

After a nice individual performance, Scheibengraber was denied by TEV goalkeeper Timon Ewert (5th), but when Miesbach was penalized, a shot by defender Simon Franz made it 1-1 (9th).

It became critical when the hosts were down two men on the ice for 66 seconds, but they survived this phase unscathed.

And six seconds before the third break, the stadium was upside down when Ryan Murphy scored to make it 2-1 after great preliminary work from Philipp Michl.

In the second half, the game developed into a top game at the highest Bayernliga level.

It went back and forth until two Erdingers - after an extremely controversial situation - had to go to the penalty box at the same time.

Six seconds before the end of the penalties, Felix Feuerreiter made it 2-2 (31st).

The Gladiators only shook themselves briefly and were able to celebrate the new lead in the 38th minute.

After a strong solo by Florian Zimmermann, defender Lukas Krämmer heaved the puck into the net to make it 3:2.

The final third was a desperate attack by the Miesbachers, and the question for the Gladiators was whether they had enough strength.

Erding's keeper Schedlbauer was now under constant fire and counterattacks became increasingly rare.

But the Erdinger Mauer held, and when Miesbach took the goalkeeper off the ice, Krämmer scored 13 seconds before the end to make it 4:2.

Statistics: Goals/Assists: 0:1 (3rd) Pölt (Fe. Feuerreiter, Endress), 1:1 (9th) Franz (Rukajärvi, Michl/6-5), 2:1 (20th) Murphy (Michl , Rukajärvi), 2-2 (31') Fe.

Feuerreiter (Endress/5-3), 3: 2 (38.) Krämmer (Zimmermann, Wallek), 4: 2 (60.) Krämmer (Zimmermann/5-6) – Spectators: 600 – HSR: Alexander Saal – Penalty minutes: Erding 14, Miesbach 10.
