According to the Senegalese association, Sadio Mané will miss the first games of the World Cup.

However, the game plan helps the team.

What Senegal's plan could look like.

Doha – Sadio Mané was injured shortly before the 2022 World Cup.

For Senegal, the absence of the FC Bayern player means a serious setback: the high ambitions of Mané's team in Qatar could be nullified.

After all, the winger is a mainstay in the offensive game.

The Senegalese association and national coach Aliou Cissé were therefore hoping that Sadio Mané would be ready for action again in time for the group stage.

According to the current status, however, it does not look like that.

Mané threatens to miss the first World Cup games.

At least that's what Vice President Adoulaye Sow said this week.

How Senegal could deal with Sadio Mané's injury

Sadio Mané will not be used in the first group game against the big favorites Netherlands.

Senegal must deal with it and not whine too much, Sow said.

The official did not provide any information about the other games in Group A.

The Senegalese side can cope with a defeat against the Netherlands, however, with two more games to play.

The team meets Qatar on November 25th and Ecuador on November 29th.

The appointment comes in handy for the Senegalese.

Is Mané enough time to get fit for the group final?

Even with Sadio Mané, Senegal is an outsider in the game against the Netherlands and must reckon with losing the game.

However, a win against the hosts Qatar, who have not yet drawn attention to themselves in terms of football, should be realistic even without the star player from the Bayern squad.

Then, as expected, comes the final against Ecuador, who are likely to go into the last game of the group stage with similar conditions – provided there are no surprises by then.

For Sadio Mané, the extra week could be enough time to get back into shape and help his side reach the eighth finals.

A win should secure the necessary second place.
