Kashrut storm in Qatar: cold food yes, hot cooked food no Israel today

2022-11-21T10:07:01.497Z

The local authorities do not allow the preparation of cooked kosher food, the kosher observant Jews will have to make do with cold food even on Shabbat until the end of the tournament.

Further to the publications about the problems that the authorities in Qatar are having regarding the preparation of kosher food and prayers in Parhasiya, it becomes clear that the Qataris only allow the preparation of cold kosher food and not hot cooked food.

This means that all kosher observant Jews will be forced to do without cooked food during the tournament, including at Shabbat meals.

Following the published articles, sources who spoke with the Jewish-American rabbi who is supposed to be responsible on behalf of the authorities in Qatar for the Jewish religion during the tournament, claim that according to him, there was never a promise of hot kosher food, nor was there permission for prayers in the parish.

Any Jew who wants to pray during the tournament can do so modestly in his private room.

Regarding kosher cooked food, it is hard to believe that there will be a change in the policy of the local authorities by the end of the games.
