After five losses away from the Menorah Mittehim Hall, Maccabi Tel Aviv stopped the streak last night (Tuesday) and achieved its first away win of the season in the EuroLeague when it beat Milan 71:78, with the help of a wonderful display from Lorenzo Brown and Roman Sorkin, and an improved defensive game.
"It was a great team effort and great defense in the second half," noted Oded Ketch at the end.
"I think the main thing that we won and also stands out in the statistics is that we got 13 more rebounds than them. We showed heart. We were ready for a tough game and a battle on the floor, we made some changes and adjustments in the half and finally we got a victory."
After a number of away games in which the yellow defense was at its weak point, last night the players showed considerable improvement, stopping the Italians for 31 points in the second half, and received an impressive output from the bench players who stepped up and each contributed their part, led by Roman Sorkin's 14 points and 6 rebounds along with 13 points and three important 3-pointers by Jarl Martin.

"It's an amazing feeling. We fought in the away games for the last few months and we couldn't win, and we just wanted to finish it. I'm sure they wanted just as much as we did, but someone had to win tonight," shared his feelings at the end of Lorenzo Brown, who led the list of guest scorers with 20 points and 8 assists.
"It just came down to our defense and our team collective. We're still learning as part of our rebuilding process. We're working hard and trying to get through tough times, and it'll work out toward the end. We promise," the guard added.
