After two weeks of searching following the departure of Ariel Beit Halami, the team's coach for the past two years, Hapoel Eilat reached an agreement today (Sunday) with the next coach who will take his place and try to save the team from the struggles of the bottom - Maurizio Buscaglia.
The Italian coach (53) is remembered by basketball fans in Israel from last season when he coached Hapoel Holon, but was fired in the process and replaced by Guy Goodes, who led the team to the championship.
Buscaglia, who previously won the title of coach of the season in the Eurocup and the Italian league and coached the Dutch national team in the summer, opened the season on the lines of Napoli from the south of the country, but his team failed and he was fired last week.
