France will have to wait a little longer to find out if it will host the Women's Euro 2025. Scheduled for January 25, the awarding of the competition has been postponed to April 4, UEFA informed us on Wednesday.
A file postponed to stick to a meeting of the executive committee of the European body which will take place in Lisbon (Portugal).
The last Euro took place last year in England and crowned the host country.
It had been postponed for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The next European competition is therefore fast approaching and the host country will only be designated a little over two years before it.
France, which has chosen twelve host cities, is in competition with three other files, submitted in mid-October: Poland, Switzerland and a group of four Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland).
Officially launched by UEFA in 1984, the Women's Euro has never been organized by France.
However, France has a strong argument with the experience of the 2019 World Cup.
