The Serbian coach is perfect • Zack Hankins is the Reds' best player • Speedy Smith is the leader • Kadyn Carrington provided wonderful displays • And Or Cornelius and Itay Segev took a leap forward • Yaakov Meir sums up the team's unforgettable season from the capital

Aleksandar Dzikić - 10

The Serbian has delivered one of the most impressive seasons as a coach in a long time. He left the demons of recent years behind, rallied a tough, well-coached group that sometimes seemed unable to lose, and believed in players even in the bad times.

He usually managed games at an excellent level, bringing down experienced and quality coaches such as Chos Vidoreta and Oded Ketch. It deserves a perfect score.

Zach Hankins - 9

There were many doubts surrounding the talented center at the start of the season. Hankins answered in a big way, beating almost every competitor during the season — both experienced classic centers and athletic forwards — and mostly staying fit, committed and focused on both sides of the court for almost the entire season.

In recent times he has struggled a bit against the physicality of AEK Athens and Tenerife players, but he is still the Reds' best player this season and one of the best in the Champions League in 2022/23.

Kadyn Carrington - 8

There were also quite a few question marks surrounding Jerusalem's talented guard during the season, and he answered them in a big way with some wonderful displays, which showed how explosive his potential is. Hankins' instability in a few games this season has hurt his score a bit, but he can certainly sum up a season with great satisfaction.

Speedy Smith - 8

If some of his friends had question marks, Speedy Smith had exclamation points. Fans and journalists, including this writer, were sure that he was not suitable for the position of the team's first point guard from the capital and called for his replacement.

Dzikic, of course, was not impressed, went with his man to the end - and benefited. Smith maximizes his offensive and defensive potential, effectively leading the team in his own way. With a little more offensive stability and higher shooting rates, his score would soar, too.

LeVay Randolph - 7.5

The versatile forward provided a good and solid season, contributing significantly to some of Jerusalem's most important victories.
That's pretty much what you can say about his ability.
Contrary to expectations at the beginning of the season, he did not bring anything special, and it cannot be said that he carried the team on his back. That doesn't mean he shouldn't stay in Jerusalem next season, but that he can't be one of the main people, just another good and quality player in the squad.

Cornelius Light - 7

Jerusalem's surprise of the season. "Orko" is Dzikic's energizer and one of the key hallmarks of the way the team in red has played this season – toughness, passion, discipline and egolessness.

The quantum leap made by the Israeli forward in the past year is impressive by any standard. If he scores the free threes at a better percentage, he will become one of the top Israeli players and significantly upgrade his status and salary.

Itay Segev - 6.5

"The heart of the club," is what one fan called it in a panel we held over the weekend. The interior player struggled at the beginning of the season with the demands and toughness of his coach, but slowly they began to broadcast on the same wavelength.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best season of his career - from a complementary player at best he became a player who plays a significant role and gains confidence from game to game, and an integral part of success. In relation to the expectations of him at the beginning of the season, the Jerusalem captain made a significant leap forward.

Brandon Brown - 6.5

Even as you read this, I still haven't decided whether the sympathetic guard deserves a higher score. On the one hand, the number of quality games he has provided his team is not large, and on the other hand, he is on an almost constant trend of improvement and complements all his backline teammates excellently.

Sim-Sander Vena and Marquez Meiris - 5.5

The two solid forwards brought Dzikic exactly what he was looking for – experience, physical size, toughness, discipline, work ethic and positive character in the dressing room. They say that every winning team needs players like that. We won't argue with that, but in the end their overall contribution isn't big enough.

Oz Blazer - 4

I thought the senior Israeli forward would flourish in the red uniform and find himself in the system that Dzikic brought with him, but sometimes Blazer seems a little lost on the court.
The mid-season injury also hurt him and caused him to chase the train, which had already left the station on a positive trajectory.

When Blazer wraps up his European season, he certainly won't give himself a good grade. Maybe the upcoming playoffs in the league could change the season for him – experience, character and ability to do that abound.
