Arena whispers: Bayern stars are fair-weather footballers

Quite a few fans of FC Bayern blame the rather turbulent season on the capricious weather in Germany's supposedly most beautiful state. Strikingly, when the sun briefly rose over the Allianz Arena at some point around the 04th minute against FC Schalke 30 on Saturday, the Tuchel team suddenly played from a single source.

6:0! When was the last time this happened? Only the older Bayern fans can probably still remember it.

Arena whispers slowly say goodbye to Manuel Neuer

Manuel Neuer was once again delighted with the gala – despite his piquant origins. The still injured keeper took a seat directly in front of the press box for probably the penultimate time (with a stylish jacket from a brand from Herzogenaurach) and unfortunately did not want to comment on tz.de question as to whether he would receive the trophy in Cologne. This leaves room for interpretation.

Speaking of press seats. For a short time, there was a suspicion that Schalke's sporting director was sitting next to you during the game – for whatever reason. In the 21st minute, however, there was no need to ask because the stranger suddenly jumped up from his seat and clenched his fist when Thomas Müller milled the ball over the line. He also took his backpack back with him after the end of the game – and didn't leave it on the press bench.

Thomas Müller feels persecuted and doesn't want to go on the stadium fence – arena whispers about the Schalke game

When Sadio Mané was the first to storm to the Bayern fans after the final whistle, they only wanted to see their Thomas. Together with Joshua Kimmich, he struggled to get the tired Bayern stars to dance. Afterwards, Müller was supposed to get on the fence as much as possible, which was loudly demanded with chants. Problem: The 33-year-old did not want to heave his "carcass" there after 90 minutes.

The explanation followed promptly. "When I got my chance in the ninetieth, I thought I was being held massively. Then I looked back – but there was no opponent at all," said Müller after the game in the mixed zone and immediately criticised his playing time: "A ninety, that was something. The air was already scarce at the back."

Arena whispering: Kimmich blames silence on bad behavior of his offspring

Co-captain Kimmich didn't speak at all this time in the catacombs of the Allianz Arena, blaming it on the bad behaviour of his youngsters. He walked through the stadium catacombs with it and said: "Not today, sorry." When the journalists and reporters looked surprised at Kimmich's silence, he pointed to his offspring: "He didn't behave last time."

Leon Goretzka also did not speak to the media representatives this time. Somewhat surprisingly, the international was initially on the bench against Schalke. However, the fact that he did not want to talk about it can be completely ruled out, because the midfield star provided the answer himself.

Arena whispers for the Schalke game: Lieferando messenger Leon Goretzka brings sushi to the mixed zone

Goretzka handed a sushi box to a waiting journalist. So the good Leon apparently still has a part-time job as a Lieferando messenger – and therefore apparently had to leave quickly because he had more food to deliver.

Don't believe me? But that's what you would have said a few years ago about nine degrees in mid-May ... (smk)
