Boulogne-Levallois has recruited Barry Brown as a medical freelancer to better surround Victor Wembanyama for the playoffs, the Mets announced Monday. The American, who is 1.92 m tall, plays at fullback.
The 26-year-old arrives from the New Zealand Breakers with whom he reached the NBL Finals in Oceania.
With an average of 19.5 points in the regular season, Brown was the Breakers' leading scorer. The American has already crossed paths with French players since he played in the same jersey as Rayan Rupert, the son of former international Thierry Rupert, who died in 2013, and brother of Iliana Rupert, who will present himself as Wemby in the NBA draft on June 22. Brown will have the difficult task of making people forget the departure of Tremont Waters, who left last month.
Welcome Barry!

Currently second in the regular phase of the France Championship, which ends this Tuesday (20 hours) with the Paris derby against Paris Basketball in Marcel-Cerdan, the Metropolitans 92, already qualified for the playoffs, will have the opportunity to field Barry Brown to allow him to acclimatize to his new team.
Runners-up of Monaco in the standings before this final day of the regular phase, the Mets can no longer join the Monegasques. On the other hand, the danger comes from the Asvel. Currently 3rd, the three-time defending France champion can steal 2nd place from Vincent Collet's players if they lose to Paris – in the race for a historic ticket for the playoffs for their second season in the elite – and win at the same time in Bourg. The stakes are high because the 2nd place of the Championship offers the advantage of the field during the playoffs until the final.
