Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was suspended Sunday night from all team activities following footage from a live broadcast of "starring" that circulated on Instagram in which he was again seen carrying a gun in his hand.
Former player Kwame Brown went on the offensive against the point guard: "You like playing with guns, eh?" said the former first-round draft pick. "You give a stupid apology and then wave the gun live on Instagram again. You're a stupid kid. You're probably the stupidest son of a bitch in this whole league."
Brown added, "You have $231 million guaranteed and you're acting like some dumb criminal? You're allowed to have a gun, it's part of the Constitution, but why do you keep brandishing it like that? Your brain is screwed. You have $231 million and you're trying to act like a gang member? What is this idiocy? If you keep going like that, you'll be playing basketball in jail."

Meanwhile, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski claimed today: "If it was indeed a gun in his hand, he faces a significant suspension early next season. Last time it was eight games, but in fact he was only suspended for two in practice. This time it will not be so. This time, he is expected to receive a very, very long suspension."
The commentator added: "Adam Silver expected his behaviour to change, because that's a pattern of behaviour. It's important to have pressure from other teams in the league, because it's not only hurting Memphis, it's hurting the league itself. I don't think Silver takes that lightly. This time there will be real consequences."
