After the 2-1 win against TuS Raubling, one point is still missing to stay in the league.

Langengeisling – The second men's team and the women's soccer players had presented and won their games 2:1 each. So the district league team of FC Langengeisling followed suit and defeated TuS Raubling. And it was probably the most important 2-1 win of the weekend. After the third treble in a row, only one point is now missing in the fight for relegation.

The Geislinger started with the self-confidence of two victories in a row and went full throttle right from the start. Maxi Maier narrowly missed the target with a header from five meters (3rd). Then David Riederle started a solo on the left side of the attack, left two opponents standing, his pass from the baseline pushed Kilian Kaiser over the line for an early FCL lead (12th).

On the other hand, they almost equalised when Valentin Schöffel caught a return from Severin Stenzel that fell short. The Raubling striker had already outplayed goalkeeper Alex Strecker, but only hit the outside of the net.

Now the guests were also in the game, who now also got the preponderance in midfield, but bounced off the safe FCL defense. In such a case, only standards help – and indeed: 26th minute, very sharply kicked corner, and Michael Brunnhuber headed the ball into the top right corner. Very annoying for the Geislingers, who minutes earlier had demanded a penalty kick in vain after Maxi Birnbeck had gone to the ground.

The game was now evenly balanced, the hosts had the best chance: From an offside position, first Kaiser, then Birnbeck failed at the brilliantly reacting goalkeeper Maximilian Wunderlich (36th).

After the break, the Raublingers took the initiative and pushed for the lead. Dominic Reisner chased the ball to the crossbar from 20 yards, Strecker would have been powerless (47th). Alexander Lallinger was also allowed to try it from the edge of the penalty area.

That was warning shots enough, now the FCL also countered again. More than two distance attempts by Kaiser and Kilian Stenzel did not jump out, but the Raublinger had now also shot their powder. And then, of all people, their goalkeeper blundered. Previously, Wunderlich had confidently plucked down every submission. But then, in the 78th minute, this one free-kick cross from player-coach Maxi Hintermaier flew into the penalty area. In the middle, Maier rose high, but missed the ball like the apparently surprised keeper. The beneficiary was the Geislingen central defender Michael Faltlhauser, who scored to make it 2-1.

The people of Raubling had nothing left to oppose. Substitute Flo Rupprecht still made it 3-1. But FCL could also live with the 2-1 win – it was the standard result this weekend.
