The holidays will wait! The Blues, like their counterparts from other foreign selections, will play extra time in June with two games on the program. In detail, they will face Gibraltar in Faro (Portugal) on Friday 16 (20:45) and Greece at the Stade de France three days later, on Monday 19 (20:45). Two matches counting towards the Euro 2024 qualifiers, which will take place in Germany (14 June - 14 July). The France is currently top of its group after its successes over the Netherlands (4-0) and Ireland (1-0) in March.

Didier Deschamps will announce the names of the selected players on Wednesday, May 31. Usually, this meeting is held on a Thursday. It has been brought forward by 24 hours, as is often the case with the last list of the season, because some internationals are on leave or about to be and it allows them to stay mobilized or, on the contrary, to go on leave. The championships of Germany and England end, thus, on May 27 and 28 while Ligue 1, La Liga or Serie A stretch until June 3 and 4.

The final of the Champions League on June 10

The gathering of the vice-world champions in Clairefontaine will start earlier, on Friday, June 9 in this case. This shows that the French staff does not take the confrontations against Gibraltar, then Greece lightly. The choice of this date will also allow the players, who have been off for a few days, to do a little physical work before the matches to be ready for the upcoming double deadline.

Some Blues could, however, join their partners only on Sunday 11 or more certainly on Monday 12 June. The final of the Champions League, set for June 10, is likely to concern the Milanese Olivier Giroud, Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) or / and the Madrid Aurélien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

Guy Stephan, the assistant to the national coach Didier Deschamps, travels to Milan on Tuesday 16 May to supervise the semi-final return of the Champions League between Inter and AC Milan (success of the Nerazzurri 2-0 in the first leg).
