Manchester City secured their place in the Champions League final for the second time in two years. In 2021 they lost to Chelsea in the final, on Wednesday night they crushed Real Madrid 0-4 and secured their place in the final against Inter Milan on June 10 in Istanbul where they will try to win the competition for the first time in their history, perhaps on the way to an amazing treble because next week they can win the Premier League title and a week later they will meet Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
Bernardo Silva, who has recently again reported in England and Spain that he may ask to leave this summer, scored a pair in the first half and what is amazing is that all of the Portuguese's last nine goals in the Champions League in different seasons have been knockouts: he scored against Schalke in the eighth, against Tottenham in the quarter, in the eighth also against Mönchengladbach and twice against Sporting Lisbon, against Real Madrid in the semi-finals last season, Against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and two goals this season against Real in the semi-finals.

Bernardo Silva also became the third player to score a pair or more times in the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid, ahead of Lionel Messi in 2011 and Robert Lewandowski in 2013. The Portuguese, by the way, has a total of 14 Champions League goals in 78 appearances for Manchester City and in his first two years at the factory for Monaco. Alongside Silva is midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who cooked up his first goal and has now reached 25 assists this season in all competitions, more than any other player in the top five leagues.
Real Madrid have had one of their worst halves in recent years, but the one who did reach an impressive milestone is manager Carlo Ancelotti, who made history by surpassing Sir Alex Ferguson to become the manager with the most Champions League appearances on his resume: standing on the sidelines 191 times in the Champions League, playing more than Ferguson.
