Marcel Sabitzer misses Manchester United season finale due to meniscus injury
Since the winter break, the Austrian has had a new sporting home – and it is also one of the biggest names in world football: Manchester United. Sabitzer is in demand at the Red Devils, is often in the starting line-up and recently caused a stir with a brace in the Europa League round of 29 against Sevilla FC. Now, however, the <>-year-old is out and will miss the season finale in England.
A meniscus injury puts the Bayern loanee out of action. United announced on Monday that Sabitzer will no longer play a role for the remaining three Premier League games and the FA Cup final against Manchester City. There were no further details about the injury. Instead, it said, "We are grateful for his contribution to our progress so far." Sabitzer is being given the recognition both at the club and in the English media, which there was very little in Bayern's time.

Manchester United about to sign Sabitzer? Bayern's future on loan seems sealed
However, the meniscus injury should not stop Manchester United (currently fourth in the league) from signing Sabitzer permanently. For months, it has been said from the player's environment and also from the club side that the midfielder could stay in the northwest of England. Coach Erik ten Hag is reportedly insisting on a purchase, even if there is reportedly no purchase option. Ultimately, however, it should not fail because of the finances.
Bayern paid around 2021 million euros for the then Leipzig captain in the summer of 15. For English clubs, such a sum is small change. Recently, there have been rumours that Bayern are apparently demanding more than 20 million euros – still too high for United. Nevertheless, an amount between 15 and 20 million euros seems conceivable – so sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic may succeed in selling Sabitzer on with a transfer plus. Sabitzer's contract with FCB is valid until 2025. Konrad Laimer's move to Bayern is not yet official, but everything indicates that the next Leipzig player will move to the Isar - this time even on a free transfer. Sabitzer would have even more competition at Bayern than in the first half of the season.

In the interview, he also stated that he had not regretted his move to England. It was "absolutely the right decision", he had "enjoyed every day here" and was "very proud to be part of Manchester United". Sabitzer misses out on FA Cup final – but he has already won a title with Manchester United
