Two months after he was photographed with a gun in a strip club, on Sunday he was again seen playing with a gun in a video posted on social media with a friend of his in a car.
Morant, who is expected to receive a full-game suspension again after being banned for 8 games in March, has been heavily criticized in recent days. Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, told ESPN: "We talked to him about the consequences and we were very focused on what was happening in the moment. The truth is that most of the conversation was about how serious the previous incident was. The consequences there, 8 games out, were pretty serious. He took the punishment seriously and I was sure he understood the consequences and what might happen next. He is a star with many fans. My concern was that millions of children around the world would see it and think it was okay. This act of using a weapon in such a way, I was sure he understood the point. I was shocked when the video came out over the weekend. You still don't know what happened there and if it's him, but I'll assume the worst."

The actor, who watched Silver's interview, later issued a statement of apology that it was doubtful anyone would accept, saying: "I know I've disappointed a lot of people who supported me. It's a journey and I'm aware that I still have work ahead of me. My words may not be worth much right now, but I take full responsibility for my actions. I am committed and will continue to work on who I am."
