In 2022, ÖSV ace Julia Dujmovits ended her career because of her pregnancy. But she doesn't regret this step – and is happier than ever.
Vienna – After Olympic snowboard champion Julia Dujmovits said goodbye to winter sports in 2018, but reversed this decision two years later, the Austrian once again drew a line under her sporting career last August. Apparently, this is now final. The reason for the end of her career is of a family nature: At the beginning of the year, she became a mother for the first time – and now lives a completely different life.

"Life writes beautiful stories," says ex-snowboard star Dumjovits about her son
Since Dujmovits announced the end of her career, the former ÖSV slalom ace has been enjoying time with her family, with whom she lives in Vienna, as she revealed in an interview with the Kronen-Zeitung: "Besides Elisée (her son, editor's note), time is the greatest gift. More time for family, friends, I've really enjoyed that since I retired. I have an annual pass at Schönbrunn Zoo. We are here every free minute," Dujmovits said.
Although she has particular respect for traveling with him, she went into raptures about her offspring, who was only a few months old: "He's so well-behaved, it makes life as a mom easy. And beautiful. We didn't really plan it," admitted the Austrian. Nevertheless, she does not regret the pregnancy, because "life simply writes beautiful stories." This also applies to the biathlon dream couple Komatz, who are now also expecting offspring.
Former ÖSV ace Dumjovits has found her "life man" - and wants to get married
And with the father of her young son, Geoffrey Camus, the 2014 Olympic parallel slalom champion has found her soulmate. "Geoffrey is the man of my life. We first got to know each other on a mental level before we met," Dujmovits said.
She emphasized the many similarities between the young parents: "We have a thirst for adventure, but we also both meditate and want to reach our full potential and support each other," she said, looking happier than ever. And she could also very well imagine a long-term future with the Frenchman Camus, whose grandfather comes from the Seychelles. "We want to get married. In the Seychelles or in Austria," Dujmovits gave insights. Next is luge star Patrick Pigneter, who recently married the love of his life.
Ex-snowboarder Dumjovits on professional future: "Maybe I'll give yoga classes in Maui"
As far as her future career plans are concerned, the 35-year-old, who ended her career last year because of her pregnancy, has some ideas. There is no trace of her original profession: "Maybe I'll give yoga classes in Maui. Company lectures on breathing and mindset," said Dujmovits, who, however, does not yet want to decide where her future path will take her: "The freer you are inside, the freer you can create your life. Bring mind and body into order."

For now, however, the former world-class snowboarder would like to put her body to the test again. This was not possible due to the pregnancy with her son, whom she gave birth to in January. "I'm just starting out with a little bit of running. I gave myself the time not to rush into anything after giving birth," says Dujmovits, who is slowly getting her taste for it again: "Now I'm looking forward to sports with sweating."
