Sotoca's awakening at the best of times
More than seven months since he had scored in Ligue 1, on October 2 against OL. His 7th goal of the season came at just the right time. But beyond his goal the number 7 Lensois was very active and generous by his always numerous efforts. He perfectly launched his partners towards a European qualification of which he worked hard throughout the season.
The character of the RCL
Battered at the beginning of the game, Lens was able to react once again. Like against Reims last week by conceding the opening score and evolving to 10 during three quarters of the match. But the Haise team also knew how to be patient and suffer without cracking, as in the second half. The performance is beautiful and worthy of a great team that knows how to bend without breaking and knows how to win when it takes to almost ensure that they see the Champions League in Bollaert next season.
FLOPS
The Lorient rearguard
On the Lorient side, we inevitably remember the mistakes and clumsiness that cost the team dearly. First on Sotoca's equaliser when Mvogo made a rebound in the axis that caused a loose ball before Sotoca further away armed a strike, countered by Talbi to beat his goalkeeper. On the second goal, Gedeon Kalulu lost the ball at the entrance of his six meters to put Thomasson in the best position to put Lens in front of the score.
The touch of Medina
How to start a match in the worst way? Facundo Medina obviously knows this well. The Argentine quietly let an innocuous ball come out in touch after 6 minutes. A touch that he addressed very softly to his goalkeeper Brice Samba, ahead of Romain Faivre for the opening of the Lorient score. Fortunately for him, his teammates turned the tide to make forget this completely failed gesture.
