Oskar Gluch only played half a season for Red Bull Salzburg, but it was enough for him to be nominated for the Austrian New Player of the Year award and finish fourth. The person crowned is Sturm Graz striker Emmanuel Omega. The Dutchman was bought from Antwerp in the summer for €1.5 million and scored 9 goals.
The "New Player of the Season" award is awarded to players who are in their first season in the Austrian Bundesliga and Gloch, who was acquired from Maccabi Tel Aviv in January, came in fourth place. The 19-year-old midfielder made 13 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg, scoring two goals and assisting two more.
Salzburg did win the championship, but Austria were not convinced by their ability and coach Matthias Jaisle came fourth in the selection of coach of the year. The winner is esteemed coach Christian Ilzer, who led Sturm Graz to second place and a ticket to Champions League qualification.
