Max Verstappen won the Monaco GP in a race that was wet after it started raining on lap 50. The Red Bull driver started from pole position and did not give up the lead throughout the race. Fernando Alonso was second after chasing the shadow of the Dutchman, who was much superior and came to take more than 25 seconds. The rain forced the Spaniard to stop twice in a row to change the tires, and although he was able to maintain the position, he gave up a lot of ground to the champion. Behind Alonso came Esteban Ocon to complete the podium. The Alpine rider had a beautiful battle with Carlos Sainz during the first half of the race. Ocon fended off Ferrari, creating a caravan that helped Alonso and Verstappen. Finally, the Spaniard finished eighth, although he played a race in which he sought to climb positions constantly. The rain made the race more chaotic, leading to several minor accidents. Checo Pérez started last and was unable to climb positions, finishing in 17th place. Stroll and Magnussen were forced to resign.
