Various sports associations claim that the money that was supposed to come for the coming year, which is an Olympic year, has not yet come in, and as a result, they cannot continue to function, which has caused many of them to take out loans • "On the one hand, they want achievements and medals here, but on the other hand they don't help to make it happen, they only know how to make promises and to this day have not kept a word," said one of the chairmen

There has been an uproar in Olympic sports after various sports associations claim that the money that was supposed to come for this year has not yet come in, and they cannot continue to function. The associations claim that the last sum that came from the Sports Ministry was 60 percent from last year, and despite all the promises given to them, the rest of the money has not yet arrived, which hinders their existence as a partner of the sports, moreover, about 15 different associations were forced in the past year to take a loan from the Olympic Committee in order to survive.

Israel Hayom learned that about two weeks ago, the directors general met together with officials in the Sports Ministry and the Olympic Committee, but even after that, nothing moved, and the great concern, since the officials themselves who transfer the funds will soon leave for the holiday vacation, there will be no one to handle it. As a result, athletes are already forced to pay out of pocket for training camps and competitions, projects that are postponed or closed, flight cuts and unions that have informed a number of their employees that they will soon have a way to pay them.

"We're in a big problem and it seems that no one really cares," one of the chairmen told Israel Hayom, "There's a big problem here, that one drops on the other, but the athletes themselves really don't care whether it's a problem in the Sports Ministry, the Finance Ministry or the Prime Minister, they're the ones who suffer. We've managed to keep our heads above water so far, but the strength we had has also run out. On the one hand, they want achievements and medals here, but on the other hand, they don't help to make that happen, they only know how to scatter promises and to this day they haven't kept a word."

In a certain industry, they decided to give up a flagship project that had been in recent years for the benefit of young athletes, when at first the idea arose that the parents would help finance it, but in the end they dropped it and gave up on this year, because they ran out of financial capabilities. "We decided to give up, all kinds of options were examined, but we find it difficult to continue it," the statement said. In another sport, they will soon go to training camp, but a significant part of the athletes finance the trip themselves and the associations will not be able to help them, when even the youth budget does not come in, all this must be remembered, the state budget was approved in May. "The unions and associations are going to collapse, you never know what's going on with the Olympic preparations, the money isn't flowing and it's going to go on like this, it's just that the union will be bankrupt," they said.

The Sports Ministry said: "Yesterday, the ministerial support committee approved the union model, which determines the budgetary framework for each union. Each association is required to submit performance reports, and according to what is reported, the Ministry of Culture and Sport will pay the funds. The sooner the unions submit the performance reports, the more progress the transfer of funds will be."
