The National Security Committee discussed today (Monday) the death penalty law for terrorists that National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is working to promote. After the headquarters of the families of the abductees expressed its opposition to holding the hearing, Gil Dickman, who lost his aunt Kinneret Gat in the murderous Hamas terror attack, and his cousin Carmel Gat and the wife of his cousin Yarden Roman Gat were abducted to the Gaza Strip, appeared before the committee and begged not to deal with the death penalty for terrorists and to stop the hearing.
During the discussion, MK Almog Cohen (Otzma Yehudit) was furious with the families of the abductees and told their representative, television personality Chen Avigdori, whose wife and daughter were kidnapped: "You have no mandate for the pain. I have a lot of friends who were killed who were kidnapped." Avigdori replied to Ben-Gvir and Cohen: "The blood is on your hands, Ben-Gvir, I want a commitment from you that if something happens to them, you will resign."
I appreciate you very much that on Black Saturday you immediately took a weapon and ran to the inferno area,
but shouting at the families of the abductees
is beyond any boundary

The person who stood with the families of the abductees was Lior Berkowitz, Eyal's son, who posted a tweet in which he wrote to Cohen: "I appreciate you very much that on Black Saturday you immediately took a weapon and ran to the area of the inferno, but shouting at the families of the abductees is beyond any limit, zero."
