A great achievement for Israel's figure skater Mark Gordinsky, who won the silver medal last night at the Challenge Cup round in Warsaw, Poland.
The 22-year-old Gordinsky, who entered the competition wearing a necklace with a Star of David around his neck, continues to show his line of progress, finishing the short and free exercise with a total score of 243.29 points, and was only 2.93 points away from the gold medal achieved by European Championships bronze medalist Lucas Britzegui. American Jason Brown completed the podium picture with a score of 236.75.
Also participating in the competition was young Lev Vinokur (17), who is also starting to get experience in the senior round, he finished 18th with 175.85 points. The duo of Maria Nosovitskaya and Mikhail Nosovitsky finished sixth in the dance competition, with 164.08 points. Shira Ichilov, who participated with her new partner on the ice, Dmitry Kravchenko who scored 149.09 points and placed 11th.
The main goal for Israeli athletes will be at the beginning of January with the European Championships in Lithuania and the World Championships in mid-March in Canada.
