After several years in which the right-back position at Maccabi Tel Aviv was manned by Andre Geralds and Maor Kandil, this summer Kiryat Shalom made a change in this position, replaced by French defender Ivan Masson and Israeli national team defender Avishai Cohen. On Tuesday, Masson conducted an interview with the media in his country in which he discussed his future and hinted at leaving Kiryat Shalom.
"We won all our games until the war, which stopped everything," Masson said, "The foreign players here are in trouble because of the war and I don't think I will stay in Israel. My goal is to find a team in the French league or somewhere else in Europe. I planned to do it next summer anyway, but I guess we'll get ahead of the plans, anyway my goal was to play for a team in Europe."
Masson started all five of Maccabi Tel Aviv's league matches until October 7, when Hamas terrorists carried out the massacre in the communities near the Gaza Strip, which led to the outbreak of the war. He also scored one goal in the Conference League against Breidblick.
