The league administration sent a request to the Premier League teams on Tuesday to postpone the return of the league by another week, except for the matchup between Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Petah Tikva, which in such a case will take place this Saturday. The Secretariat's request came after Sports Minister Miki Zohar sought to make things a little easier for the opposing groups (Beitar Jerusalem, M.S. Ashdod, Hapoel Hadera, and Bnei Sakhnin) and thus reach a compromise between the parties.
If there is indeed a majority for the proposal, the league's opening will be postponed by another week, and the opposing teams are expected to withdraw their opposition to the move. The groups are supposed to return an answer by tomorrow morning to the Secretariat, and it is believed that they will not raise difficulties, given the complex situation in the country.
If there is indeed another postponement, the opposing teams will be able to organize better in terms of training and perhaps even the return of foreign players.
