From the very first moment of October 7th, even before the enormous scale of the disaster became clear, German football as a whole has stood with the State of Israel. From exciting initiatives to host children from the Gaza envelope, such as they did in Dortmund, Bayern Munich and now Hertha Berlin, through active participation in pro-Israel demonstrations, waving signs in support of games, to the suspension and release of players who spoke out in favor of Hamas on social media, such as Anwar El Ghazi, who was cut from Mainz.

Already on the evening of October 7th, Werder Bremen fans, who have a deep connection with Hapoel Jerusalem fans, waved support and solidarity with the State of Israel, since then they have also made sure to do so at every game, with a clear call to bring the hostages home, and in particular Hersh Goldberg-Poland, one of the members of Hapoel Jerusalem's cheerleading bloc, whose picture appeared on the screens before one of the team's games. This evening (Wednesday), at the initiative of the fans' organization and with the support of the club, a large rally will be held calling for the return of the hostages held by Hamas, under the slogan: "Bring them home now."

Club chairman Klaus Filbury said ahead of the demonstration: "We are committed to a humane and stable society. We have a very clear view, especially in the shadow of events in Israel and the Gaza Strip. It is important for us as a club to take a clear stand and make it clear that we stand with Israel."

Club CEO Anne-Katherine Laufman revealed: "The Israel Football Association has written to us that our commitment to Israel gives Israelis hope and comfort. A little light in a dark period. We're doing this together."

Help find Hersh Goldberg-Polin!

The young Israeli #Werder fan went missing after the festival he was attending was attacked by terrorists. It is thought that he has been abducted and taken to Gaza.
