Basketball player Josh Giddey's agent was fired from his job for reasons that have nothing to do with the controversy surrounding the player, but rather with the events of October 7. Giddey, an Oklahoma City NBA player, is currently in the headlines as he faces a police investigation over allegations that he had an illicit sexual relationship with a minor. The minor and her family reportedly refuse to cooperate with the police.
One of his agents, Daniel Moldovan, was fired by Octagon following another affair: his blunt response to Black Lives Matter's social media post. Black Lives Matter is a protest organization from the United States that originally railed against police brutality but has since become a controversial political body.

After the murderous Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, the Black Lives Meter Chicago branch posted a post in support of Hamas, with a picture of a paraglider and the caption "I support Palestine!" Moldovan, a Jewish Australian agent, strongly condemned BLM's Instagram post. "72 hours after terrorists spilled over into a music festival and massacred 260 young people," Moldovan wrote at the time, "this is how BLM chose to make it clear who they support. Fuck you BLM and everyone who supports them." BLM Chicago has since deleted their tweet with the paraglider.
Now Octagon confirms that Moldovan has been dismissed from his post. "We have become aware that Daniel Moldovan has made divisive and disparaging comments that do not represent our values or what we stand for," the agency said in a statement. "We immediately opened an investigation into the reported incident. We determined that Daniel's comments and actions were a serious breach of our policies in place to protect the longstanding integrity of the company, its employees and customers, and we terminated his employment immediately."

It should be noted that these days, against the backdrop of the underage affair, Giddey was at the center of a racist storm, when former football star Dez Bryant attacked the ESPN reporter online, claiming that if Giddey had been black, she would have reported the story differently, and that the media was making assumptions to him that he was white. With or without connection, the agency decided to fire the Jewish agent after he harshly criticized an organization representing blacks.
