Since the massacre by Hamas in the communities near the Gaza Strip on October 7, which triggered the outbreak of an iron sword war, German football as a whole – teams and fans – have rallied to support Israel unequivocally.
Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Hertha Berlin and others invited delegations of bereaved families and children who survived the Black Sabbath to the games, publicly expressed their desire to see the abductees return to Israel safe and sound, and fans of quite a few teams were also very active in conveying messages for Israel.
Werder Bremen fans were among the most prominent Bundesliga fans who supported Israel, already holding up signs after the massacre to return the hostages, and among other things, gave emotional treatment to Maccabi Haifa fan Inbar Heiman, who was kidnapped from the party in Reim. A few days ago it became known that Heymann had been murdered by Hamas and on Tuesday evening at the home game against RB Leipzig, Bremen fans held up a moving setting with Heymann's portrait and a Hebrew inscription that read: "Inbar Heiman z"l." Exciting.
