FC Bayern's standards have been a weapon since this season.
Assistant coach Anthony Barry is partly responsible for this.
He now received special praise from Thomas Tuchel.
Munich – Before the last session in Faro, Portugal, Thomas Tuchel (50) used the time to take a quick breather.
Together with his coaching team from FC Bayern, the coach sat down in the Pavilion Bar on the training campus, got a round of coffee for himself and his assistants and enjoyed the sunshine in the Algarve for a few minutes.
Thomas Tuchel ennobles assistant coach Anthony Barry
Also there: assistant coach Anthony Barry (37) – whom Tuchel then praised for his work on the standards: “The quality with Anthony is at the highest level,” said the coach in the media round on Wednesday afternoon.
“There is an unconfirmed observation of mine over the last few years that the teams that go far in tournaments or championships also dominate the standards,” the coach underlined his importance.
The fact is: the 1.1 million euros that FCB paid to Premier League club Chelsea for Barry in the summer were worth it.
This season alone, the German record champions have already scored nine goals from corners or free kicks, compared to 12 in the entire last season. At that time, the Munich team only ended up in the middle of the standard table (9th place), today they are leaders and are catching up the first 16 games for the most hits from dead balls in almost 20 years (season 2004/2005).
So it's no wonder that Tuchel definitely didn't want to let Barry join the Irish national team in December last year.

Assistant coach Barry very happy with the standards of the Bayern stars
Another reason for the strong numbers: In addition to the work in the coaching team, the free-kick takers also show top performances.
According to
tz
information, Barry is very happy with the standards of Joshua Kimmich (28) and Leroy Sané (28) because they often end up exactly in the dangerous zones in the penalty area.
That is, where the probability of scoring is greatest when the ball is at rest.
In addition, according to Tuchel, the entire team is highly motivated to improve their own processes when the ball is at rest: “It's about the team's receptiveness, desire and joy and the attitude towards it,” said Tuchel.
“The boys do that at the very highest level.”
But: Barry has to “always come up with something new” because the processes are “relatively easy for the opponent to study”.
The Brit also received praise from his head coach for this – and a coffee in the sun.
