Gary Lineker's storm does not stop.
Today (Friday) in the Irish media body "The Irish Times" they supported the football commentator from the BBC who attacks Israel against the background of the war in Gaza.
"His moderate views are seen as subversive by the right," it was claimed in Ireland, he arouses the ire of conservative politicians." As I recall, Lineker retweeted an anti-Semitic and pro-Palestinian post. British newspapers including the "Telegraph" were then informed by Lineker that he "got it wrong ” the post and thought he was retweeting a news report.
A current BBC employee, who asked to remain anonymous, told Variety that senior management's failure to get rid of Lineker in the face of his scandals "makes them look stupid".
Part of the BBC's reluctance to act is believed to stem from its previous attempts to sanction Lineker last year for tweeting about Britain's immigration policy, which saw him briefly suspended.
He was reinstated three days later after his fellow presenters walked out in solidarity, prompting the BBC to go on air without commentary.

Sources say the BBC is worried about another rebellion if they try to sanction the presenter, who has been presenting the Premier League program for almost 30 years.
"They are afraid that if they fire him then other BBC staff will go too."
