Icon of German football, as well as of world football more generally, Franz Beckenbauer will have the right to a last tribute, this Friday, January 19.
After the emotion caused by the announcement of the death of its “Kaiser” on January 7, Bayern Munich wanted to organize a final tribute ceremony at the Allianz Arena.
Tens of thousands of Munich residents are expected in Munich for the occasion.
It was also under the leadership of Franz Beckenbauer - president of Bayern at the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s - that Bayern decided to leave the Olympic stadium in Munich to build its current stadium in the north from the city.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (Social Democrat) will be present in the stands, as will President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the president of the region, Markus Söder.
Bayern President Herbert Hainer will deliver the welcome speech at around 3 p.m.
Honorary president Uli Hoeness, who played for the Bavarian club alongside Franz Beckenbauer in the 1960s and 1970s, and who held management positions with the “Kaiser” and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, must also give a speech.

Teammates of Beckenbauer and Hoeness to win the world champion title in 1974, like Paul Breintner, will take their place in the stands, just like the 1990 world champions around Lothar Matthäus, Andreas Brehme or Rudi Völler, trained by the Kaiser.
Former Bayern coaches such as Hansi Flick, Julian Nagelsmann, Felix Magath, and Niko Kovac will also be present, as well as the record holder for matches played in the Bundesliga, Charly Körbel (602).
And beyond Germany, Real Madrid will be represented by Merengue legend Emilio Butragueno, while FC Barcelona will send its president Joan Laporta.
Former Bayern international stars such as French defenders Bixente Lizarazu and Willy Sagnol, Belgian goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff and Belgian defender Marc van Bommel have also announced their presence.
