Hübers is happy about the numerous demonstrators

The 27-year-old spoke to members of the press about the protests at Cologne's Heumarkt, which the central defender described as an "outstanding action" and added: "I think you don't have to have strong opinions to be against the right."

The Hildesheim native was particularly pleased by the large number of demonstrators: “When you see how many can be mobilized in such a short time, it at least puts a smile on my face when 1,000 people are announced and 30,000 come.” This was added Hübers made it clear: “AfD ban or not, everyone can take a position against the right.”

Freiburg coach Streich also welcomes protests

But it wasn't just the 1. FC Köln defender who welcomed the actions against right-wing extremism.

The coach of SC Freiburg, Christian Streich, who repeatedly takes a stand on important social issues, also had clear words at the press conference: “If you don't stand up now, you haven't understood anything.

It is five to twelve.

Everyone in this country is called upon to take a clear position in their family circles, at work or elsewhere.”

Leipzig coach Marco Rose also supports the protests: “I believe that it is very important to stand up against stupidity and right-wing extremism in every form.

I think it's good that people are doing that, that they are clearly showing their colors and taking to the streets." Numerous professional clubs such as Arminia Bielefeld, Werder Bremen, VfL Bochum and FC St. Pauli are supporting the demonstrations in their respective cities .

While many clubs, those responsible or players often find it difficult to take a clear position on socially critical issues, the fight against the right seems to be slowly breaking the silence that is often felt.
