Joshua Kimmich was missing from FC Bayern's Portugal training camp for good reason.
Now his fourth child is born.
Update from January 18th, 1:20 p.m.:
The fourth child of Bayern star Joshua Kimmich and his wife Lina is here!
While his teammates are enjoying the final stages of the training camp in the Portuguese Algarve, the Swabian is looking forward to welcoming new young talent in Munich.
He had stayed away from the training camp because of the impending birth.
FCB coach Thomas Tuchel said about the Kimmichs at a media round in Portugal: “There is good news.
Mom is healthy, child is healthy and father is doing well too.
And he’ll be back in training on Friday.”
Tuchel then had a bit of a problem with Kimmich missing from the training camp because “we have polished a few things here”.
But he also added: “Sure, those are the best reasons, family always comes first.”
Joshua Kimmich is looking forward to having more offspring.

FC Bayern without Kimmich in the Portugal training camp
First report from January 15th:
Faro – FC Bayern kicked off 2024 with a 3-0 win over TSG Hoffenheim.
In order to optimally prepare for the second half of the season and the championship fight with Bayer Leverkusen, the Munich team is completing a training camp in Faro, Portugal, from Sunday to Thursday.
Joshua Kimmich is not there.

Kimmich is expecting the birth of his child and is missing from the training camp
A total of 18 players from FC Bayern's professional squad traveled to the south of Portugal.
In addition, seven young players around Fukui Taichi and Max Schmitt came along to fill out the squad.
Joshua Kimmich, however, is an important player missing for personal reasons.
His wife Lina is expecting a baby, so the midfielder stayed in cold Munich to be present at the birth of his child.
The two met in Leipzig and have been a couple since 2012.
The wedding of the dream couple followed in June 2022.
It is already the fourth child in the Kimmich family.

Five other players are not taking part in FC Bayern's training camp
In addition to Kimmich, who is currently in Munich and will keep himself fit there, five other players did not come to the training camp in Faro.
In addition to Kim Min-Jae and Noussair Mazraoui, who are chasing titles with their national teams at the Asian Cup and Africa Cup of Nations respectively, Serge Gnabry, Bouna Sarr and Daniel Peretz are missing due to injury.
However, there is new signing Eric Dier, whose move to FC Bayern has been official since last Thursday.
For the Englishman, who played alongside Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur for many years, the training camp will be about getting to know his colleagues and the processes better.
Tuchel has clear ideas about the training camp
For Thomas Tuchel, the training camp is not about “endlessly stringing together loads, but rather having time to practice standard situations and correct processes, both defensively and offensively, in detail.” The FC Bayern coach also wants to improve team cohesion in order to “get a few more percentage points for team spirit.”
FC Bayern have three games in the Bundesliga next week.
Between the two games against Werder Bremen and FC Augsburg, they will face Union Berlin during the week to make up for the canceled game from December.
