Update from January 19th, 9:57 p.m.:
Eintracht announces completion: Defensive all-rounder Kristijan Jakic is moving to FC Augsburg with immediate effect.
The Swabians are loaning the Croatian international until the end of the season and then have a purchase option.
According to information from Bild,
this amounts
to five million euros.
According to the paper, if the 26-year-old is used regularly for the Fuggerstadt team, there will be no rental fee.
“Kristijan Jakic has been an important mentality player in our team in recent years.
“He played a big part in our successes, especially winning the Europa League in 2022,” said the SGE’s sports director, Markus Krösche, on Friday evening.
This season Jakic, who came to Frankfurt from Dinamo Zagreb in 2021, did not go beyond the role of a supplementary player at Eintracht.

Ekitike or Kalimuendo?
SGE apparently has a clear favorite
Update from January 17th, 6:30 p.m.:
The transfer of Hugo Ekitite from Paris Saint-Germain to Eintracht is becoming increasingly concrete.
According to information from
Bild
, the Hessians are considering putting more than 20 million euros on the table for the striker.
Accordingly, those responsible are in very good discussions with the 21-year-old, not least because Ekitite is apparently ready to accept the salary offer of three million euros.
But the poker with PSG continues for now.
However, according to the report, a signing of Arnaud Kalimuendo from Stades Rennes, also from Ligue 1, is becoming increasingly unlikely.
Although Eintracht and the player himself are still interested in a transfer, the northwestern French are apparently asking for a fee that is too high for the French U21 international.
First report from January 17th, 1:47 p.m.:
Frankfurt - While the Eintracht Frankfurt players enjoyed a little winter break around Christmas and the New Year, there was no time for sports director Markus Krösche to take a deep breath.
The reason: The winter transfer window opened on January 1st and the SGE really wanted to strengthen the squad.
No sooner said than done, a new striker was quickly found in Sasa Kalajdzic.
In addition, Krösche lured Donny van de Beek to the Main.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Ekitike apparently agree: Will Paris give in?
But that's not all, another striker is to be signed.
In the summer, Eintracht had to accept the last-minute departure of Randal Kolo Muani and were no longer able to react - the transfer window in Germany had already closed.
Eintracht Frankfurt was already interested in Hugo Ekitike from Paris Saint-Germain back then, but a move did not materialize for financial reasons.
Now the trail seems to be getting hotter and hotter.
Eintracht insider Christopher Michel had already reported for the
fussball.news
portal a few days ago that Ekitike would be willing to forego large parts of his salary.
Eintracht Frankfurt really appeals to him.
So if Paris gives in, he could soon be wearing the SGE jersey.

Gift Orban moves to Olympique Lyon: transfer is a mystery
Things are different with Gift Orban.
Eintracht Frankfurt found this personnel very exciting, but at the beginning of the negotiations KAA Gent asked for around 30 million euros for the striker.
Too much for Markus Krösche.
fussball.news reports on this
.
During the course of the negotiations, Gent is said to have remained firm and not gone below 20 million euros, which is why the SBU refrained from the transfer.
According to the report, the 21-year-old is now about to move to Olympique Lyon – for a fee of around 13 million euros.
“Which game the club played remains a mystery,” writes Eintracht insider Christopher Michel at
Fußball.news
.
In this case, Krösche remained true to his line.
Should Ekitike come, the SGE would be very well positioned on the offensive - even without Orban.
Chapter ended: Rafael Borré leaves Eintracht Frankfurt
The Eintracht Frankfurt chapter is finally over for another striker.
As the club announced on Wednesday (January 17th), Rafael Borré will definitely leave the SGE and "move to the Brazilian first division club Internacional Porto Alegre SC in the summer at the latest," Eintracht wrote in a statement.
The striker has already been loaned out to Werder Bremen this season, but there have been repeated rumors of a move to South America for a few weeks now.
“Rafael Borré will forever be associated with the Europa League victory in 2022 and thus as part of Eintracht’s history.
We wish him only the best for his sporting and private future,” sports director Markus Krösche is quoted as saying in the club’s statement.
